Nosebleed is the flow of blood from the nose. Nosebleed occurs at all ages, and has many causes such as high blood pressure. Nosebleed may occur spontaneously in children.
Types of nosebleed:
- Bruise nosebleed: occurs in the front section of the nose barrier that is vulnerable to hemorrhage, and prone to drought caused by the air; it is often famous in young people and children constituting 90% of the causes of bleeding.
- Natural nosebleed: it is natural bleeding owing to rigid rupture of blood vessels due to high blood pressure. Natural nosebleeding tends to occur in the elderly persons.
- Bruise nosebleed occurs in the presence of some diseases like fever and blood diseases.
First aid for nosebleed:
- Calm the patient, place him on the seat with the head lifted up.
- Press on the bottom of the nose.
- Put a piece of gauze soaked with iced water in the nostril and press for ten minutes.
