Makkah province is located in the west of Saudi Arabia. The significance of Makkah stems from the fact that it embraces the house of Allah (Al-Kaaba).
The city of Makkah is the administrative headquarters of the region that includes eleven governorates, five of which are A category (At-Tayef, Jeddah, Rabeg, Al-Laith and Al-Gunfuthah); and six governorates come under category (B).
